NSW Swifts coach Briony Akle didn’t miss a chance to fireside a shot at Raiders coach Ricky Stuart after a win.

NSW Swifts coach Briony Akle has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart after his feedback concerning the toughness of netballers.

Stuart has been within the firing line over the past week for his feedback made to Information Corp journalist Paul Kent, and has since issued an apology.

After the Raiders coach was slammed by Australian netball great Liz Ellis, Akle too, took a dig at the under-fire Stuart after her Swifts claimed a 55-43 win over the Vixens.

“The Vixens are a championship crew,” Akle stated. “I used to be not snug at all that we had received that sport, even with 5 minutes to go.”

“Netballers are robust. It was a troublesome 60 minutes of netball and it took that to win the sport.

“Swifts followers, they’re crying out for netball and it has been almost two years since we have performed.

“For them to be loyal to us and are available again and end up like they did right now and assist a crew that has been away, it simply exhibits the legacy of the crew.

“Netball and ladies’s sport is certainly up there.”

Swifts star Sam Wallace was as soon as once more the chief destroyer for Akle, capturing at 100 per cent effectivity within the win as she went 48 for 48 on aim makes an attempt.
