Superstar Titans second-rower David Fifita has tonight matched a legend’s extraordinary feat against the Rabbitohs.

Superstar Gold Coast Titans second-rower David Fifita has become the first forward to score two hat-tricks in a season since Manly Sea Eagles legend Steve Menzies in 1998.

Fifita was unstoppable in the Titans’ clash with the Rabbitohs at Cbus Super Stadium, although it was South Sydney who eventually prevailed, 40-30.

The former Bronco crossed for his first try after just a couple of minutes, outmuscling four Rabbitohs.

He then snared another try on a searching run on the left edge in the 31st minute, refusing to be tackled after a tap restart.

And Fifita then rounded out his hat-trick when he burst onto a Brian Kelly short ball on the left edge less than three minutes later.

“He’s his own action hero,” said Fox League commentator Warren Smith after Fifita’s third try.

“He could have his own action figurine. He could be on the front of a DC comic. Starring in a Marvel movie!”

Tonight’s hat-trick followed his three-try heroics against the Newcastle Knights at Cbus Super Stadium in round five.

Menzies scored a hat-trick against the Adelaide Rams in round 22 of the 1998 season, grabbed a double against the North Queensland Cowboys in round 23 and added another hat-trick against the New Zealand Warriors in round 24.
