The NRL integrity unit is investigating after a video went viral on social media, allegedly involving a leading player.

The NRL is in damage control again after a video of a Parramatta player involved in a sex act with a woman in a public toilet went viral on social media.

The Eels have told the NRL Integrity Unit about the incident and it is now being investigated.

This columnist predicted the sex scandal would break soon in yesterday’s column and it has since been sent around by hundreds of people on Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms overnight.

But Wide World of Sports believes the player will not have a case to answer.

The footage barely lasts five seconds and is poor quality and the player does not appear to realise he is even being filmed as he has his back to the camera.

“The club has become aware of a video involving one of its players,” Parramatta said in a statement.

“We understand that those in the video have been illegally filmed without consent and that an attempt has been made to distribute the video to media outlets and on social media platforms.

“The club has informed the NRL Integrity Unit and is taking the matter very seriously, particularly given the potential invasion of privacy of those involved.

“The club will not be making any further comment.”
