St George Illawarra half Ben Hunt has been struck down by injury in a crushing hit to the Red V under Anthony Griffin.

St George Illawarra captain Ben Hunt broke his leg during the Dragons’ 38-12 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles last night.

The Dragons said in a statement that Hunt had suffered an impact fracture to his fibula in the WIN Stadium match.

The former Bronco was sent for scans on a badly corked calf but it was discovered that the injury was much worse.

The club is yet to determine a return-to-play timeframe for Hunt.

MORE TO COME.
