Strict on Twitter - Supreme Court issues notice to Twitter; Said - Find a way to prevent faked and inflammatory messages

INDIA NEWS – According to information received by World News superfast, the Supreme Court on Friday heard a petition seeking to stop fake news and inflammatory messages on Twitter-Facebook. The court has issued notices to the central government and social media platforms in this case. They have been asked to make such an arrangement so that such news and messages can be stopped. Also asked to take action on bogus (fake) accounts.

In the notice, the central government has been asked to include these restrictions in the proposed social media regulation

According to information received by the World News superfast, the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) of BJP leader and lawyer Vineet Goenka was heard by Chief Justice SA Bobde. The petitioner says that for the last few years, news and messages circulating the country have been spread through Twitter and social media. It is a threat to the unity and integrity of the country.

97% accounts blocked at the behest of the government

According to media reports, Twitter has so far blocked 97% of accounts from which fake news, hate hashtags and inflammatory content were being spread at the behest of the Center following the violence at the Red Fort. According to sources, the Center had informed Twitter of 1,435 such accounts.

Of these, 1,398 accounts have been blocked. There were also 257 accounts through which hashtags like #farmer genocide (peasant massacre) were being run. Out of these, 220 accounts have been blocked by Twitter.

Union Minister gave warning

According to information received by World News superfast, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had given strict warning to social media platforms Twitter and Facebook in Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Had said, ‘We respect social media. It has given strength to the common people. The role of social media is also very important in Digital India program, but if it promotes fake news and violence then we will take action. Be it Twitter or some other platform.

Prasad had said in the House, We have informed Twitter and other social media companies about the rules and regulations of the country

According to information received by World News superfast, we have told them that if we want to do business in India, then our rules and regulations have to be followed. How can it be that some more rules are adopted for the violence on the Capitol Hills (US Parliament) and different for the violence on the Red Fort. We do not approve different parameters for different countries.
