Nick Kyrgios was unimpressed by tennis legend Martina Navratilova’s examination of his personality.
Nick Kyrgios clapped back at tennis legend Martina Navratilova and two sports experts following his rollercoaster Australian Open exit on Friday night.
Kyrgios responded on Twitter to a Tennis Channel video clip featuring Navratilova in discussion with Sports Illustrated executive editor Jon Wertheim and sportscaster Steve Weissman.
“YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME,” Kyrgios wrote early on Saturday morning after bowing out to Austrian star Dominic Thiem in five sets.
The trio were trying to get their head around Kyrgios and the tennis’ world’s endless fascination with the mercurial Aussie ace.
“As a tennis player, you get thrust into the adult life very early on before you are really ready for it emotionally,” Navratilova said.
“The emotional growth comes in bits and pieces really and it is delayed really.
“I think give him a chance to catch up to that and, as he said he feels grounded, put down some roots and figure out who you are, that can only be good…
“I don’t know if he is a good bad guy or a bad good guy but he’s both.”
